Woman who accosted Kylie Kelce issues apology

  • Margate
Young fans take selfies with Jason Kelce during his celebrity appearance in Sea Isle last June for an autism awareness fundraiser. The  woman who accosted Kylie Kelce outside a Margate restaurant over the Memorial Day weekend has issued an apology after her identity was made known by a reporter from a Philadelphia magazine. On the PhillyMag website Thursday evening, reporter Victor Fiorillo reported that he tracked down Andree Goldberg at her Teuscher Chocolates store in Wayne, Pennsylvania after a video posted on social media showed her yelling at Kylie Kelce, who declined Goldberg’s request to take a selfie with her and her husband former Eagles center Jason Kelce. The Kelces, who have a summer home in Sea Isle City, were headed to a date night dinner at Steve & Cookies By the Bay restaurant when the fracas occurred. A short time after the reporter left their store, Goldberg’s publicist sent out this statement on Goldberg’s behalf:
“In a heated moment, I said things that were out of character for me and that I regret and for that, I am sorry. Although I apologized directly to the Kelce family on Saturday, I want to publicly apologize to them, and our community. My anger, and my actions, are not who I am, and certainly not indicative of the welcoming community of Margate.  As an adult and proud member of my community, I should have recognized and respected their right to privacy from the onset. I am deeply appreciative of the grace and understanding shown to me by the Kelces and wish them nothing but the best.”
While he was at the store, Goldberg and husband Bryan told Fiorillo, “There’s no story here,” and to leave the store or the police would be called. The apology was the second offered in writing to the Kelces. Margate Mayor Michael Collins also issued an apology to the Kelces and offered them a “redo” dinner on him.
“On behalf of the City of Margate, I’d like to formally apologize to Jason & Kylie Kelce for the experience they had in Margate City over the holiday weekend. As a father with young children, I know as well as anyone the importance of a date night with your wife and would like to offer a redo date night with dinner on me.”
The Kelces have not issued a response or publicly spoken about the incident.
