Police charge Ventnor man with child luring

VENTNOR A city man was arrested June 22 and charged with one count of child luring and enticing a child through an online app.

Following a monthlong investigation by the Ventnor City Police Detective Bureau, police on June 22 charged Joseph M. Manzoni, 55, with one count of luring and enticing a child by various means, a crime in the Second Degree.

According to a release from Ventnor Police Chief Joe Fussner, Det. Kevin Brady and Patrol Officer Michael Newell investigated a report received at 10:25 p.m. Sunday, May 22 from a subject who arrived at a pre-arranged location to meet a male with the purpose of having sex with him.

Police allege that Manzoni had been communicating with the subject through an online app, where Manzoni believed the subject was a 15-year-old child.

Manzoni was charged on a summons pending an appearance in Atlantic County Superior Court.
