Longport 9/11 ceremony.
Downbeach towns will be conducting their annual 9/11 remembrance services on Monday, Sept. 11.
Longport's annual 9/11 ceremony will be held 9 a.m. at Thomas B. Reed Park at the foot of the Longport bridge. Firefighters, police and members of American Legion Post 469 will place wreaths memory of those lost in the 9/11 attacks, and those fighting the War on Terror for many years after those attacks. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend this brief but meaningful ceremony.
Margate 9/11 ceremony
The City of Margate will hold its annual Patriot's Day and 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony also at 9 a.m. on Sept. 11. The services will honor those who perished during the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The ceremony will be held at Margate Firehouse No. 1, 1 S. Washington Ave. The public is invited to attend.
