DOWNBEACH

Two ways to recycle this weekend in Downbeach

  • Community

All three Downbeach communities will be having events this weekend that provide residents and visitors with the opportunity to clean out their closets or cash in on great deals.

Ventnor will be holding its annual Shredding and Spring Cleaning Event 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 25 at Ski Beach, Dorset Avenue at the bay.

The event allows residents to dispose of sensitive documents safely in the big shredding truck. The Ventnor Green team will also be collecting no longer wanted clothing and textiles for repurposing, allowing them to stay out of the landfill. Bring used textiles, including clothing, footwear, accessories, linens, stuffed animals, and luggage for recycling to Ski Beach.

Meanwhile, in Margate and Longport, residents and visitors can recycle in a different way by purchasing gently used household items at reasonable prices at yard sales being held throughout the towns. There is no registration needed to participate.

In Margate, yard sales will be held 9 a.m. to noon. Raindate is Sunday.

In Longport, unsold items must be removed from the property by 3 p.m. Any trash items may not be placed on the curb before noon on Sunday. Only two bulky items are permitted for collection.

Free shredding for Margate and Longport residents will be available 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 30 at Margate’s Public Works Yard.

Ventnor's Community Yard Sale will be held the weekend of June 27-28. Residents may register to appear on the map beginning March 30 on ventnor.recdesk.com or by printing the form available through the link below.
