MIAMI — Bryce Harper and Aaron Nola had big nights Monday, helping the Phillies to defeat the Marlins 1-0 and take three of four from their division-rivals.
After doubling in his first at-bat of the game, Harper got the scoring started in the top of the third with a solo shot off of Miami starter Janson Junk, which traveled 393 feet:

For Harper, it was his seventh home run of 2026, and the 370th of his likely Cooperstown-bound career.
Harper went on to go 3-for-4, finishing just a triple — or a Beyoncé, some would say — shy of the cycle.
Nola dazzled over six innings, turning in a vintage effort that saw him strike out five and allow five hits, while walking zero and giving up zero home runs. It was a very encouraging outing for the former All-Star, who entered the evening with a 6.03 ERA across his first six starts of the season.

In relief of Nola, Tanner Banks, José Alvarado and Brad Keller all had scoreless outings. That's a welcome sign as well, especially with closer Jhoan Duran (left oblique) likely to be activated from the injured list Tuesday.
Garrett Stubbs — starting on a planned off day for J.T. Realmuto — also shined. In addition to a seventh-inning single, Stubbs threw out two would-be basestealers, which is of particular importance in a low-scoring game:

With the win, the Phillies improve to 15-20. They have won six of their first seven games with Don Mattingly as the interim manager.
The Phillies will return home Tuesday, with a three-game series against the Oakland Sacramento Las Vegas Athletics awaiting them. Cristopher Sánchez is set to take the mound in the series opener, with veteran righty Luis Severino going for the A's.
