  • Local
MAYS LANDING - Atlantic County Institute of Technology recently held a College Signing Day celebration to honor two senior Red Hawks, Yamdry Hernandez and Tanner Innis, as they committed to continuing their athletic careers at the Division I level. The event highlighted their impressive achievements and the bright futures that lie ahead for both student athletes.

""This is a wonderful moment for ACIT. It’s a testament to the hard work and dedication of these athletes, and we’re proud of everything they’ve accomplished. It’s great to see our students achieve such remarkable milestones, and we look forward to their continued success," Principal Joseph Potkay said,

Yamdry Hernandez, a standout three-sport athlete in football, track and field, and basketball, has earned eight varsity letters during his high school career. He will be continuing his athletic journey at the University of Delaware, where he will join their football program. Hernandez’s versatility and dedication have made him a key figure on ACIT’s sports teams, and his hard work has earned him this incredible opportunity.

Tanner Innis, a student in the ACIT Math, Engineering and Science program, has been a four-year all-star in swimming at Buena Regional High School, as ACIT does not have a swim team. Innis will continue his athletic career at the United States Military Academy at West Point. As the highest point scorer among Cape Atlantic League all-stars, Innis has demonstrated exceptional commitment and leadership in the pool, making him one of the top swimmers in the region. His success in both academics and athletics showcases his dedication and discipline, traits that will serve him well at West Point.
